Welcome! I am an African Diasporic dancer/choreographer/instructor based in Cleveland, Ohio. I perform dances from Guinea, Mali, Cuba, and Brazil. I have choreographed productions for Cleveland Public Theater, The Karamu House, Inc., and The Tri-C Performing Arts Series Showtime at High Noon. I have been a West African dancer since 2002 and have performed for many schools, churches, weddings, reunions, and community events. I teach creative movement and West African Dance to children as young as three and to adults into their twilight years. My philosophy is based on the West African proverb if you can walk you can dance. I believe everyone can dance or be taught to dance it just takes perseverance. I am available for solo performances and instruction, contact us for booking information.
Iyalode will also be giving African Dance Lessons every friday throughout the month of October, at Studio 11 in Tremont Ohio. Classes are $10 per person
